Manhattan Middle School

Parent Teacher Organization

Thank you for your interest in the Manhattan Middle School of Arts and Academics PTO! The PTO supports students, families and teachers at Manhattan Middle School.

Our organization provides funding to fill gaps left by budget cuts and short-falls on a district and state-level. We enrich education by securing resources for classrooms and the school, and providing open communication between staff and parents.

Our PTO builds community by hosting many fun and educational events throughout the school year. We have a dedicated board of parents, but every parent of a Manhattan student is a member of the Manhattan PTO! We invite you to come to a meeting or reach out to one of our board members and let us know what you'd like to see happening at Manhattan: let's build our community together!

Fundraising

We raise funds to support Manhattan Middle School teachers, staff, students, and community throughout the year. Our main fundraising happens through the Magic Phoenix Campaign at the beginning of each school year. We also passively raise funds via King Soopers Community Rewards program, our Community Dinner nights, and a small amount via sales of our Phoenix Spirit Wear.

How Our Funds are Used

The majority of raised funds are used to support teacher classroom requests. Past funds have been used for classroom supplies, library materials, art supplies, invited speakers, sporting equipment, lab equipment, computers, and field trip scholarships, among other things. A small portion of funds is used for teacher appreciation and community events.

Volunteering

Volunteering is a great way to get to know and support your Manhattan Middle School Community. Many of our Community building events require parent volunteers and we'd love to have your help! Our PTO Board is also looking for volunteers, so reach out today! To volunteer with the Manhattan PTO, please fill out this form. Please note that volunteering inside the school requires a background check. Please visit the BVSD website for more info.
