The Magic Phoenix is the annual fund-raiser of the MMS PTO.  Rather than asking families to sell items, this is a direct ask for a donation to the fund from the families who comprise the MMS community.  The main request for donations occurs in October, but receipts of donations last the entire school year.  The funds received provide additional cash to the teachers and staff to provide classroom items, tools and books, items that would not otherwise be in the classroom but for Magic Phoenix Funds.  Some examples of items obtained this year are sets of books for LA classes, dollars to spend at the school store as rewards for excellent work, and new microscopes for science labs.  In addition, the Magic Phoenix funds the PTO, whose purpose is to support MMS, the MMS community and its students.
